Im a hairstylist, and This is the best drier I’ve ever had. Ive had the Paul Mitchell drier, that was great too but after purchasing 4 and each one blew out after a year of use, I gave up. This drier has a small nozzle, so it’s not necissary to use the additional attachment, although it does come with 3, which is awesome! It heats up really well but never heats up the actual drier, which is GREAT! In the past my blow driers stay hot not just with the heat being blown out but also it burns my hand because it’s overheating the drier. At first I thought hot air wasnt coming out so I tested the air a few times to make sure, and it was defiantly hot. I now blow dry my clients with at least 10 minutes less. This is a powerful blow drier, it also blows extremely strong winds. Love love love the Portofino, this is my new favorite blow drier.

I read most of the reviews here on Amazon; despite some of the negative reviews I decided to purchase this hair dryer. I have to say that I am absolutely satisfied with this hair dryer; it really is a professional type of hair dryer. I used Conair from Target before, and this hair dryer is really the best. I don’t understand why some people were complaining about this dryer not generating enough heat. Were they trying to fry their hair? This dryer generates enough heat to fry your hair if you set it on the highest setting!!! This dryer is a bit on the heavier side, but what would you expect if you are trying to get the best performance hair dryer?! The powerful motor will obviously have some extra weight!!! I was able to achieve salon-like straightened hair (my hair is naturally curly). I finished blow drying with a little flat iron touch ups to my hair and it was silky and shiny just like done by a professional hair stylist. I haven’t figured out why there are different size concentrators, but I love that they the same like my hair stylist is using. I hope this dryer will last me for quite some time (it does have a 4 year manufacturer’s warranty).

BaByliss Pro Hair Dryer Worth the money!

I’m very happy with this dryer! I have always had basic hair dryers from Target/Sally’s, and decided to try a higher quality dryer after years of fighting with my hair. My long, thick, curly hair usually takes about 30-45 min to dry (straight). This dryer cut the time to about 25 min. The airflow is powerful, and the nozzles do a great job of concentrating the air. Not only is the dry time shorter, but the quality of the blowout is much better. My hair feels soft and has some extra shine. I was nervous about the heat, based on prior reviews. With thick hair, I have relied on high heat in the past. I found the temps to be just right, and as another reviewer mentioned, they seemed to warm up after a minute or so. And the “cool shot” button is actually quite cool — very nice! Overall, this was a great buy. I am so glad I upgraded from my basic dryer!

BaByliss Pro Hair Dryer GREAT!!

I found this BaByliss drier easy to handle, except for the fact that I couldn’t figure out how to use the various heat settings with which the dryer is equipped. There are two rows of small, easy to push,buttons and I thought that by pushing them, there would be a difference is temperature settings or speed, or both. I guess I have’t figured it out yet, but I will. And, it definitely made my hair look shiny.

I’ve had it about a month and so far so good. It does the job quite well. I can dry my hair in about 5 minutes and my hair comes just below my shoulders. I would say it’s quieter than most, too. Based on other reviews I only use the middle heat setting instead of the highest and it seems to work fine. My only complaint, and it’s not much of a complaint, is that it’s fairly heavy- heavier than most other dryers. It’s a little more $ than I’m using to paying for a hair dryer, but it’s been well worth it.

Highly recommended. This dryer feels solid and well built. It is a bit heavier than the typical cheapie dryer. It is also quieter, and has a narrower barrel. (Probably to concentrate/direct the air flow). On medium heat and high speed, dried my super thick hair fast and with a nice result. Based on another reviewer’s comment I will use the hottest setting only occasionally.

Okay, so I’m not use to buying expensive hair dryers. I always get a cheap one and pretty much stick with it. A few weeks ago my boyfriends grandma blow dried my hair with a babyliss hair dryer and I was IN LOVE! I’ve never gotten my hair to be so manageable when blow dried. I have extreemmeelly curly hair so when it’s aways been dry, poofy, and hard to manage after a blow drying session. So when I saw how straight it became I was shocked. I threw out my cheap dryer so fast and immediately ordered this one. I am SOOO IN LOVE with this thing. I don’t even have to straighten my hair. Just blow dry and go.

like this dryer and the feel of it. The body seems a little sturdier than previous dryers and it’s a little more compact. Although, you can switch settings while you are drying your hair very easily as the toggles are right at your finger tips as you are drying; unfortunately, it can be annoying. Time will tell if it lasts longer than other dryers. Cleaning the filter is easy.

My dryer stopped heating, and I went online to look at reviews for a new one — this Babyliss was one of the top-rated dryers by pro stylists, and Amazon had the best price. I ordered it and went for one-day shipping (thanks, Amazon). It arrived about noon today, I plugged that baby in and tried it out. It was awesome! My hair was still damp of course (fine hair takes forever to dry) so I could tell. The noise was low, the heat was hot, the air flow was perfect. I felt like I was sitting in my stylist’s chair. So happy! And the red is gorgeous, a bonus. My daughters have curly hair that tends to frizz and I think they will see a difference if they try to dry with the Babyliss; non-frizzing action! I don’t love much at first sight, but I love this dryer!

This is a great hair dyer for a great price! My daughter is a hair stylist and has the volare v1. After trying it I was so impressed, but wasn’t willing to pay the hundreds of dollars the salon was selling it for. I bought this one and I feel like it is every bit as powerful!! My hair is long, thick, and on the coarse side. I can dry my hair smooth with this dryer in about 12minutes or less! This dryer is truly of professional quality. I have thick, very curly hair (mixed race). I don’t even need a hot iron anymore! A full head of shoulder length hair that used to take 60 to 90 mins(with a dryer I used to think was good) now takes 25-45 minutes to get to a bone straight/silky style. This dryer is a very good value. It has the most combinations of heat/air selections plus the cool shot. It’s a little heavier than the cheaper hair dryers availabe at local retailers, but it also performs much better.

Never again will I go back to a regular dryer. Who would have thought for only $10 more you could get a dryer of this quality? This dryer is very powerful, it cut my drying time in half. It works great for styling with a round brush, and is hot, but not too hot. It is also very quiet, despite its power. I love the attachment, it stays put once you put it on (unlike my former Vidal Sassoon dryer). Another great feature is the buttons are slide style, not toggle, so you don’t keep changing it on accident. I would definitely recommend this dryer.
Update 2 years later: I just bought another. My old one was still working, but the concentrator would not stay on because I dropped the dryer and the nozzle cracked and I think the wiring was going out (again due to being dropped many times). I looked around at other dryers but decided to get this same model because I truly loved it. Glad to see it was now available directly through Amazon.com with free shipping, last time I bought it through a merchant and paid $8.00 for shipping.

Yes, it’s a bit heavier than the cheaper models that run for about half the price, but it’s manageable. I like the long cord (didn’t think I would). It doesn’t get in the way and gives some room to roam when drying. The only issue I’ve had is that after a year some of the rubberized coating on the handle is peeling off. Other than that this is a high quality product and worth the price. The motor even sounds high quality!

Terrific dryer. It’s quiet yet powerful. My old 1850 watts hair dryer took 15 to 20 minutes to dry my hair. This dryer completes the task in under 10 minutes. The only drawback is you have to be careful not to opperate any other electrical appliance on the same circuit as it tends to trip the breaker. Otherwise I highly recommend this dryer.

My last hair dryer was a Conair 1875 watt dryer which made my hair look nice, but took absolutely forever to dry. I have pretty thick hair, and it would take AT LEAST 40 minutes to dry the majority of my hair. I’m not a morning person in any way, shape or form, and there’s no way I can afford an extra 40-60 minutes just to dry my hair. That being said, I end up going out in the cold winter weather with a partially wet head.

Well today has been the coldest day of the year, and I have to say, I was so thrilled that this new dryer came in the mail yesterday. Honestly, I was extremely skeptical when I saw the size of the nozzle, since it is much smaller than the one I was previously using. I was shocked when my hair was dry in about 13 minutes! I did not find the dryer that heavy at all. In fact, it felt the same as my old dryer, so no complaints there. It does have some weight to it, but nothing unmanageable, and it would not deter me from using it in the least. As other reviews mentioned, the only downside is that my hair did get tangled from all the hair blowing around, but if I’m going to be brushing it anyway, this wasn’t a problem either.

The results were great. No frizz, very few fly-aways, and sleek hair in less time. This is a keeper for me, and I won’t be going back to any other dryer.

I have been using this hairdryer for about a year. It is somewhat noisy, although when compared to others in this same category, it is one of the quietest. It has plenty of airflow and the warm setting makes it feel as though I’m at the salon. It’s a bit on the heavy side, but it dries hair quickly, so the weight is really not a big issue. I wish I would have noticed more difference in my hair because of the technology, but I haven’t. However, I use it every day and my hair stylist said I have great, undamaged hair, so even though I didn’t notice a difference, it must be working!
